The Imaging Alliance Extends Renowned Portraits of Love Program to Children’s Cancer Association

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Industry Leaders Donate to Benefit Families

WOODBURY, NY, August 11, 2016The Imaging Alliance, a newly formed, non-profit organization representing the bold and diverse imaging industry, today announced it is offering the Portraits of Love program to the Children’s Cancer Association (CCA). The Imaging Alliance members Canon, Fujifilm, Nikon, Sony and Shutterfly have donated cameras, printers and photobooks to the CCA that will enable their families to capture and print memorable moments with their loved ones.

This program is an extension of a popular program previously offered to military families by the Photo Manufacturers and Distributors Association (PMDA), whose members are now part of The Imaging Alliance. The Portraits of Love program has delivered more than 10,000 free portraits of military families to deployed soldiers over the past seven years.

“Portraits of Love is all about offering joy to loved ones in times of need, so working with an organization like CCA aligns perfectly with our mission,” explained Michelle Tramantano, program director of The Imaging Alliance. “Families faced with such challenges know just how precious life is, so we hope that our contribution of cameras and photo books will allow them to capture and treasure precious moments with their loved ones.”

Leading manufacturers donated over 50 point-and-shoot cameras, which will be used by children and their families to create memories for a lifetime. Shutterfly has donated photobooks to document their life events.

The Imaging Alliance is dedicated to giving back through innovative programs like Portraits of Love that use the power of images to educate, foster understanding and provide joy. It is openly soliciting new members from the growing spectrum of companies offering hardware, software, online services, and applications as well as from retailers, photographers and media representatives who service the imaging industry.
